Surveys in Multiple Languages
Mineful's survey software lets you create your online survey in multiple languages and store all responses in one database. You can use Mineful's multilingual feature to translate a single survey into multiple languages, and still have one data set for your reports. Once the survey is automatically translated, you can edit the wording on questions and responses.
Steps to Add Multiple Languages to your Survey:
- Click on theSurveys icon once you log into Mineful and click on Edit on the survey you want to add a language.
- Now click on the survey Options icon
at the top of the page. Go to the Language tab and click on the Add a Language button. - Add a language. Select the original language the survey was created in and the language you want to add and click Add. You can continue to add languages by clicking on the Add a new language link.
- Enter the wording for the "select a language" question. A question is automatically generated at the beginning of the survey asking the respondent to choose a language to answer the survey. In the Language Selection Question section, you enter the wording for this question.
- Question Layout. The choices for the language selection can be displayed as a drop down menu or radius button displayed horizontally or vertically.
- Click Save. Your survey is being translated into the language you selected. This might take a while depending on the length of your survey and the number of languages.
- Edit question and responses. We all know that automatic translators are not perfect. A professional translator should always edit the wording in each language. Notice that in the upper right hand corner of the page, there is a dropdown menu showing the language of the survey you are currently viewing. You can go to each question and edit the text and choices the same way you would any other survey. See Editing Survey Questions for details.
